Sinatra 1.0 has been released. This milestone release is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary. There is no major rewrite or feature overhaul, or anything earth shattering really. This release is more an affirmation of Sinatra's core principals and it's overall finished and stable state.
The 1.0 FAQ has a full list of changes, but the major change is the dropping of the sinatra/test library in favor of Rack::Test. Overall, a few things have been shuffled around, but most of the changes are old behaviors being removed or deprecated.
